Network Participants

This page outlines the participants of the WeMeta Network

The WeMeta Network is supported not only by stakers and validators but also by participants who each play a role in the liveliness and development of the Network.

Network Participants

WeMeta Network participants are how the network is able to operate. Without them, nothing would get done.

Network participants come in 3 groups:

  1. Guardians - Guilds & Networks

  2. Producers - Accelerated Compute Providers

  3. Data Providers - Lite Client Operators, Offchain Data Providers

Guardians

Guardians are validators of the WeMeta Network. Each Guardian stakes a required minimum of each supported network. Members can join a Guardian's Guild by staking tokens from any of the supported network. Except for solo transactions, 2/3 of Guardians must reach an agreement for WeMeta Network's Consensus to be met.

A solo transaction is a message entrusted to a single Guardian that is passed through without the need for Consensus to be met. Guardians must make themselves available for solo transactions.

Guardians

Guardians are the core of WeMeta Network, and stake numerous full validators from each supported network with WeMeta. Guardians are large holders with accelerated compute capabilities. Guardians must fulfill the Producer role.

Guardians are rewarded with WeMeta Token (W) for their efficient operation in securing the WeMeta Network. Staking rewards from other network nodes are locked and restaked into the WeMeta Network, compounding an eternal emission of rewards for Guardians.

Guardians are loaned W Tokens to stake from the Treasury for 3 years. Every year, 20-40% of Guardian positions are up for reelection, and new Guardian positions may be added. This will start with the Guardian who attract the least number of Guardian after the first 12 months of Mainnet after TGE.

Networks

WeMeta exists to connect networks with the lowest possible latency, meaning networks are the most important part of the WeMeta Ecosystem. Networks that WeMeta supports are validated by each Guardian, and ZK Lite Clients ensure their data is packed in WeMeta's Rapid and Blob DA Lakes.

Members

A Member is anyone who stakes any amount of any supported network. Members can join the Guild of any Guardian.

Producers

A producer is a GPU provider who computes ZK Proofs and other offchain jobs that cross WeMeta Network. Producers stake the WeMeta Token (W) and are rewarded for valid submissions with W.

WeMeta runs bare-metal WeMeta Network nodes in Dallas, Chicago, NYC, San Francisco, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, and Tokyo. Operators seeking direct contact should reach out. Support for producers to operate FPGA and ASIC hardware will start there.

Data Providers

A data provider is someone who runs a Lite Client or otherwise provides data to the network.

Bing, a crowd verification and testing framework released by WeMeta, in addition to accepting and distributing data labeling tasks, contributes public and private data to the network.

Next: Network Tokenomics

In the next section we will cover the Tokenomics of the WeMeta Network.
